Murano Glass
Quality art glass is sought after by many glass collectors today. Glass blowing dated back to approximately to the year 50 BC. The "studio glass movement" began in 1962. Some of the best art glass in our time today is Murano glass from Murano, Venice. One of the Murano-trained artists who spread his glass blowing knowledge in the United States was Lino Taliapietra. He apprenticed at age 12 and became a master arts at age 21. He became internationally renowned not only for his glass making, but also for his designs.
