Mens Bowler “Derby” Hats
The Bowler hat was the first hat mass produced and priced to to be affordable to all.In the past, hats always denoted rank in society but the Bowler Derby hat was worn by virtually every class of society. The hat became popular toward the end of the 19th century. The Derby hat was originally known as the coke hat after it's inventor Edward Coke. It was later dubbed the name Derby hat by Americans who had seen the Earl of Leicester wearing this type of hat at the Derby races. Sheep's wool felt is the classic fabric used to make derby hats.
